MN Fury wins Back-To-Back Deep South Classic Championships
May 6, 2015 By Fury Staff
The Deep South Classic, held every year during the April NCAA Viewing period in Raleigh, NC is one of the longest running and most prestigious grassroots Girls Basketball tournaments in the country.
In April of 2014, the Minnesota Fury 2015 Elite team went to the Raleigh Convention Center, went 6-0, and brought home the Championship of the Top Bracket of the Deep South Classic. Tim Peper's team beat the WP Celtics Black in a hard fought, Championship game.
In 2015, the Minnesota Fury 2016 Elite team went to Raleigh with one thing in mind, to go 6-0 and make a legacy of their own. They rolled through the field of 64, with their closest game being a 63-54 victory over Central PA Elite (featuring a forward committed to UCONN).
Congratulations to all 20 of these young ladies over the past years. Thank you for representing our club in a positive way both on and off the court!
